Sustainable Livelihoods
Empowering lives

Enriching lives by creating livelihood opportunities for the less privileged is a key focus area for us. Our projects aim at empowering the underprivileged to improve the quality of their lives. We have made a difference to over 80,000 lives through our Sustainable Livelihood initiatives.

The Jaipur Foot

In association with Jaipur Foot, we have given over 13,000 differently-abled individuals an opportunity to lead a productive life. The gift of a Jaipur foot is often the first step to independent living for many who otherwise have to go through life with a disadvantage.

Creating livelihood opportunities

Our project in Nashik, Maharashtra focused on enhancing the employability of youth. Over 3200 youth were trained through our NGO partner Kherwadi Social Welfare Association in various vocational skills such as basics of computers, mobile repairing, tailoring, grooming, nursing and  personality development. All these efforts resulted in a workforce of youth who were ready for employment.

Our project in Rayagada, Orissa was implemented through our NGO partner, Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN). The focus of the project was to build income generating potential to supplement the meagre and limited means of living of the tribals. We introduced initiatives that  builds their capacity to adopt improved technologies in farming and other allied activities with the help of Integrated Natural Resource Management. The activities included land levelling, building farm ponds, small earthen check dams, constructing ring wells and encouraging horticulture. Through our efforts in creating new avenues of income generation we have improved the lives of over 2,000 tribal families.
