Glenmark Research Centres [GRC]
In view of the growing importance of captive access to cutting-edge research, Glenmark invested Rs 210 million in a state-of-the-art R&D infrastructure and competencies in 2000. Located at Mahape, Navi Mumbai [New Bombay], the GRC is a sprawling facility spread across over 70,000 sq ft. It currently houses:
315 scientific staff which include 35 PhDs, many of them with postdoctoral experience from universities in US / Europe. This is organised as teams of scientists engaged in drug discovery, drug delivery systems, process development and analytical research.
Modern scientific equipment to carry out drug discovery and development as per national / internationa standards and regulations scientific equipment which includes:
LC/M/MS [Liquid Chromatography / Mass Spectrometer]
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer [NMR]
43 HPLCs equipped with a variety of detection systems.
Fluid Bed Dryer-GLATT
Formulation equipment for lab-scale development
Gas Chromatographs and other routine analytical equipment
X-ray Diffractometer, FTIR, Elemental Analyzer and DSC.
The Glenmark scientists represent GRC in various national / international seminars and meetings to present the results of in-house research efforts. Publication of results of in-house research in peer-reviewed international journals also occurs on a regular basis.
Clinical Research Centre [CRC]
CRC has been established to undertake human volunteer studies for conducting Bioavailability / Bioequivalence studies as per CGP and other international regulatory requirements by means of volunteer selection, screening, diagnosis, enrolment, dosing and biological sample collection.
Located at Turbhe, Navi Mumbai, the Centre is spread across an area of 10,000 sq. ft. and houses 36 volunteers who are participating in clinical studies. Efforts are on course to develop an additional 24-bed facility along with 12-bed intensive monitoring Phase 1units.
It provides fully air-conditioned and hygienic staying and recreation facilities for the volunteers who participate in the studies and is well equipped to handle any medical emergency in its intensive care unit.
The Centre employs the necessary personnel with required qualification to assist in its various associated functions and also has required medical specialists on call to attend to any medical emergency.
