In the mid 80s, Glenmark forayed into Russia [then, the USSR] with 1,000,000 tubes of Candid Cream, the only product registered then. This was possible thanks to MEDIMPEX, made up of delegations representing India & USSR, and under the aegis of the respective Governments. Prior to the Rouble's devaluation in 1998 following the break-up of the USSR, Glenmark had registered 6 products, in addition to Candid Cream, and garnered a fair market share with significant growth rates and sales record.

Presently, Glenmark's Ascoril brand is a front-runner in the Cough preparation segment.
